Hello reader!
I am a hardworking member of the military industrial complex. For fun, I research emerging infectious diseases, correct typos on Wikipedia, engage in sled dog racing, complete triathlons, and collect miscellaneous knowledge. This blog is generally focused on that latter hobby. Its purpose is to be a digital collection point for strange stories I read, odd things I look up, and bizarre things that I think I might need later. Frighteningly (to me) public, this is an experiment in data collection and storage to supplement my own tangential thinking.
This tri-season, I’ve joined Team Heifer, a group raising money for Heifer International. If you would like to learn more about Heifer and, possibly, make a donation, please visit my Heifer web page.
I am very proud of my recent investments at Kiva. To see how my personal experimentation in micro-finance is doing, feel free to check my investor page.
Personal goals:
- Raise $1,500 for Heifer International by December 31, 2008.
- To complete a half-iron distance aquabike (1.2mi swim; 52mi bike)
- To someday live in an off-the-grid house of some type on many acres with few neighbors. A wind or solar powered yurt is not out of the question.
