Courtesy of ProMed Mail and the CDC, there be another food processing problem, this time with Mars Foods in PA. It’s interesting that at the temperature that pet food gets processed that something like salmonella can survive.
“Investigations are ongoing to determine why human illness, especially among infants, is associated with dry pet food. Factors under investigation include handling and storage of dry pet food, hand-washing practices, exposure of children to dry pet food, and location in the home where pets are fed.”
I know my kid steals food out of the dog bowls so my bet is that other peoples’ kids do the same. I ate my fair share as a kid. Heck I still think dog biscuits taste better than teething biscuits.
